Bicester West neighbourhood
Local priorities
After consultation with the communities in the neighbourhood, the following priorities were identified:
- Litter. Residents have complained about rubbish around the shopping areas of Barberry Place, Holm Square and Bowmont Square and on the footpaths in the estates of Bure Park and Greenwood.
- Young People hanging around. There is lack of activities for young people making them hang around Bowmont and Holm Square or use the children's play area. There are concerns about under-age drinking.
- Speeding traffic. Some motorists drive too fast around the estates of Bure Park and Southwold. Residents also consider that Shakespeare Drive, Banbury Road and Bucknell Road are hotspots for speeding.
Neighbourhood Action Group
These issues are now being tackled by the Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG) made up of local residents and partner organisations.
