- A/Superintendent Chris Sharp has been the Oxford Area Commander since the beginning of the New Year 2012. Chris has been with Thames Valley Police for all his service and has previously been posted to Oxford, initially as a patrol officer, later as a police motorcyclist covering the county and more recently as the Detective Chief Inspector- Crime Manager until April 2010. He then became Area Commander for Southern Oxfordshire, now merged with the Vale of White Horse as a Police Area. Throughout his service he has always had strong connections to the policing of Oxford. His view is that Oxford is a safe place to live, work and study, and together with other agencies supporting crime reduction and safer communities he will work hard leading his staff to ensure people feel secure, safe and enjoy all the fantastic attributes Oxford has for those living in, working and visiting the city.
