Grove / Greendown / East Challow neighbourhood
Local priorities
The following priorities have been identified by the community and the police:
- Rural Crime. There is theft of plant and diesel from farm outbuildings. There are also thefts of Landover and 4x4 vehicles.
- Hare coursing and poaching offences. Offenders come into the area between September and March to commit hare coursing and poaching offences. In the process they commit criminal damage and public order offences against land owners and gamekeepers.
- Anti-social behaviour. Wantage and Grove residents are concerned about noisy young people gathering in local parks, car parks and engage in underage drinking. Some of them drive anti-socially.
These are being dealt with by your neighbourhood policing team in partnership with residents and other agencies. Progress will be reported in the Neighbourhood updates.
