This document sets out for force policy in respect of the treatment of any person who either has, claims to have or is believed to have diplomatic immunity.

It is essential that any person suspected of either committing, or having committed, an offence is dealt with expeditiously, lawfully and proportionately and in a manner that respects their individual human rights. It is also important that an individual who may enjoy immunity from prosecution as a result of diplomatic status is dealt with fairly and in a manner consistent with the proper exercise of that immunity.

This document sets out for force policy in respect of the treatment of any person who:
(a) has diplomatic immunity;
(b) claims to have diplomatic immunity; and
(c) is believed to have diplomatic immunity.
