Every neighbourhood in the Thames Valley area has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team that works together with the local community and partners to: reduce crime and incidents, bring more offenders to justice, protect the vulnerable and tackle violence against women and girls and improve victim service and public confidence.
Neighbourhood policing teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), police staff, police support volunteers and the Special Constabulary.
They aim to make communities safer through an approach that is focussed on visibility, engagement, problem solving and community resilience.
You can receive regular updates on local information and incidents in or around your area by signing up to Thames Valley Alert.
Violent crime in the Town Centre.
Issued 04 September 2024
The town centre team have been cracking down on street drinking and drug related ASB. This has resulted in CPNW’s (community protection warnings) and CPN (community protection notices) being issued to those found drinking alcohol in public. A number of arrests have since been made relating to breaches of CPN’s specifically relating to street drinking. The team conduct regular patrols and seize alcohol from anyone caught with an open vessel.
In conjunction with the above we have been working closely with partners to sign post and divert those who are repeated found drinking on the High Street. This has included joint patrols and days of action to identify those who are sleeping rough and involved in substance misuse.
We’ve held a proactive operation involving a drugs dog at Slough Train Station and on Slough High Street. As a result of this operation over 10 searches were conducted with 5 out of court disposals and a further person arrested.
A further warrant has been executed relating to drug dealing within the town. This resulted in numerous arrest for drugs offences.
In association with ASB awareness week from 18th – 24th November the South Team conducted a traffic operation associated with ASB related vehicle crime in Chalvey. Multiple drivers were spoken to and 6 tickets were issued for various driving offences.
A closure order was issued to an address in Chalvey. This allows the Police or Local Authority control who (if anyone) is able to enter an address with authority from a court. The closure order was issued to address ASB and drug use in the area. The South Team has been regularly patrolling the area and to date one person has been arrested from the address for breaching the order.

Retail Crime in Slough Town Centre.
Issued 04 September 2024
Slough LPA has seen over a 200% increase in charge rates since the inception of the Op Purchase team. We have identified the worst hit premises and look to not only prosecute those involved in retail crime but to put measures in place to make it harder for those intent on committing theft.
3 shoplifters were arrested and remanded into custody by the Op Purchase and Neighbourhood Teams last week for offences at Tescos. They were all repeat offenders who had been targeting shops across Slough in recent weeks.

The Town Centre Team are conducting an “early morning sweep” to identify those who are sleeping rough, often within residential blocks of flats. Community protection warnings / notices are being issued and arrests will be made if these are breached. There has been huge support from the public who report these incidents. It’s important these reports continue to direct the team to the areas affected.
