Anti-social behaviour
Issued 10 October 2024
We have been busy combatting anti-social use of off-road motorbikes in public areas, including those areas used for dog walking and exercise. We have also seized e-Scooters and brought prosecutions against those, who have not heeded warning, about their illegal use in public areas. We have responded to local concerns raised around illegal begging and have dealt with these robustly and positively. We continue to patrol our local anti-social behaviour hotspots, identifying those engaging in drug dealing; drug use and dealing with them positively.

Violence Against Women and Girls
Issued 10 October 2024
Early planning has started for this year’s Operation designed to make the run up to the festive season a safe time to enjoy a night out in our market towns and rural villages. You will start to see an increased police presence over the weekends in key areas designed to provide reassurance; to combat anti-social behaviour and public order offences. Officers from Thame have also charged a male with a racially aggravated public order offence directed at individuals working in the night time economy. This year’s Thame Street Fair saw an increased police presence which resulted in a safe environment for those attending with no notable disorder reported.

Retail Crime
Issued 10 October 2024
The Neighbourhood Team continue to obtain positive results for shoplifting offences carried out in the Thame sector. We have also arrested a male for a series of theft from motor vehicle offences which are currently under investigation. The South and Vale Local Police Area has seen the biggest reduction in ‘Neighbourhood Crime’ which includes offences of burglary, robbery, theft of and theft from motor vehicles in the entire force. The team are currently involved in the rollout of property marking kits to farms throughout the sector, enabling farmers and landowners to target harden their plant and equipment from offenders who are often travelling throughout the country committing thefts and burglary.
