Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
Issued 10 October 2024
We have been busy combatting anti-social use of off-road motorbikes in public areas including those areas used for dog walking and exercise. We have also seized e-Scooters and brought prosecutions against those who have not heeded warning about their illegal use in public areas. We continue to target hotspots brought to our attention by partners and the public, dealing with criminal damage, public order and community anti-social behaviour concerns.

Retail Crime
Issued 10 October 2024
Following intensive problem solving work with local retail partners under Operation Purchase, we have seen a significant reduction in shoplifting offences in many of our local stores. We have also arrested a male for a series of theft from motor vehicle offences which are currently under investigation. The South and Vale Local Police Area has seen the biggest reduction in ‘Neighbourhood Crime’ which includes offences of burglary, robbery, theft of and theft from motor vehicles in the entire force. The team are currently involved in the rollout of property marking kits to farms throughout the sector, enabling farmers and landowners to target harden their plant and equipment from offenders who are often travelling throughout the country committing thefts and burglary.
