If you are interested in submitting a documentary request to Thames Valley Police's media team please read the information below.
Thames Valley Police receives hundreds of requests every year from broadcasters and independent production companies who want to feature the work of Thames Valley Police.
Working with any production company is extremely resource intensive and takes a considerable amount of planning, coordination and liaison with numerous departments and partner agencies prior to any filming taking place. For this reason most requests for support are rejected.
Thames Valley Police will consider filming requests relating to the following:
- Fly on the wall documentaries,
- Human interest documentaries,
- Programmes looking at past cases.
For further information please contact 01865 542047.
We view the following as business as usual:
- News programmes,
- Crime appeals,
- Interviews and facilities for current affairs programmes, as determined by Thames Valley Police.
Thames Valley Police will not consider featuring in any kind of ‘infotainment documentary’ but can support in the provision of background information to ensure accurate reporting. Please contact the media office with any requests for information.
Where a filming request supports Our Commitment and also our priorities and can clearly demonstrate how it would add value to the public, we will consider the request. In considering the request we will also have to take account of ongoing filming activities and the burden on units across the force.
Your request will be acknowledged when received. If we decide not to support your request we will confirm within six weeks. If interested in progressing we may request further information or arrange a meeting to discuss the proposal in more detail.
