Notice of Misconduct Hearing – Police Constable Cameron Challis

A public misconduct hearing will take place in connection with a serving Thames Valley Police Constable.

The hearing will commence at 10am on Monday 5 October and is scheduled for 6 days.  The hearing will take place at Thames Valley Police’s Headquarters in Kidlington in front of a panel chaired by Assistant Chief Constable Dennis Murray.

Police Constable Challis faces allegations whereby it is alleged that between 2023 and 2024 while off duty, on nights out and in drink, Police Constable Challis behaved in an inappropriate manner towards female colleagues.  It is alleged that he made inappropriate sexualised comments and touched female colleagues without their consent.

It is alleged that Police Constable Challis breached the Standards of Professional Behaviour in relation to Authority, Respect and Courtesy and Discreditable Conduct.

The Appropriate Authority allege that if these allegations are proven, the conduct would amount to gross misconduct for which dismissal would be justified.

Anyone who has not pre-registered by midday on Wednesday 30 September 2026 will not be allowed in the hearing.

As a condition of attendance you will be required to comply with the following:

a) You must produce valid identification, (which will only be use to confirm your identity and will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act and General Data Protection Regulations),

b) You will be restricted on what can be brought into the hearing room or on to the premises where the hearing is to be held, for the purposes of security,

c) You and your property may be subject to a search for the purposes of security,

d) The Chair will identify any reporting restrictions that members of the public or the media must adhere to in order to be granted access to the hearing,

e) The taking of pictures, video or audio recording is forbidden within the hearing room, or within the force headquarters building,

f) The use of social media and/or live streaming is forbidden within the hearing room, or within the force headquarters building,

g) Members of the public and press are requested to remain silent at all times whilst the hearing is in session. No-one attending the public hearing shall either intervene in or interrupt the running of the hearing,

h) Should anyone breach these conditions of entry, or any of the conditions set by the hearing chair they will be asked to leave and will be escorted from the premises. The person may also be excluded from any future hearings.
