Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been jailed for six years for rape and sexual assault in Didcot.

Dean Coulling, aged 34, of Hawksbeard Way, Southmoor, was jailed for six years at Oxford Crown Court on Thursday (25/1).

Following a four day trial, a jury found Coulling unanimously guilty of one count of rape, one count sexual assault by touching and one count sexual assault by digital penetration.

Coulling raped and sexual assaulted a woman at a property in Didcot on 29 July last year.

He was arrested later the same day and charged with the offences the following day.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Alice Ashby of Force CID, said:  “This was a sensitive case and the jury reached a unanimous decision that Coulling was guilty of the offences laid.

“This has been a traumatic period for the victim as well all those who have been affected. I hope that the verdict can now bring some sense of relief and allow those affected to move on with their lives.”
