Officer convicted of assault- Banbury

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police an officer has been convicted of assault.

PC Rebecca Barnett, aged 33, of Wood End, Banbury was initially charged with Section 18 GBH with intent, but today (28/02) at a hearing at Oxford Crown Court she pleaded guilty to one count of Section 20 GBH without intent.

It was in connection with an incident in which Barnett assaulted a 29-year-old woman in Addison Road, Banbury on 10 June 2017.

Barnett, who is suspended from duties, will appear at Oxford Crown Court for sentencing on 11 June 2018.
