An investigation in to the level of service provided to residents at two nursing homes in Wokingham has concluded.

Thames Valley Police launched an investigation following concerns raised by Wokingham Borough Council’s Adult Safeguarding Team which related to the period from July 2015 to April 2016.

Enquiries related to concerns about current or previous residents at The Berkshire or Woodbury House however, following a review of the investigation, there was insufficient evidence for a realistic prospect of conviction.

The affected residents’ relatives and the Care Quality Commission (CQC), which monitors, inspects and regulates health and social care services to make sure they meet fundamental standards of quality and safety, and the affected residents’ next of kin have been informed of this outcome.

Thames Valley Police worked alongside the force’s partners - the CQC and Wokingham Borough Council to ensure residents were safeguarded.
