Two men have been charged with conspiracy to commit robbery in Didcot

Sam Weller, 18, of Pipkin Way, Oxford, and Josh Eggleton-Hart, 18, of Tavistock Avenue, Didcot, are each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Weller is also charged with one count of possession of an offensive weapon.

They were arrested on Friday (2/3) and charged on Saturday (3/3) when they also appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court. Magistrates granted them conditional bail, pending a hearing at Oxford Crown Court on 9 April.

The charges are in connection with incidents on the Ladygrove Estate in Didcot on Friday morning (2/3).

This included an incident at 8.30am on Friday, in which a 38-year-old woman was threatened in Tamar Way.

She flagged down a passing car and the female driver allowed her to get into the vehicle.

Detective Sergeant Aidan Donohoe, of the Investigation Hub at Abingdon, said: “We are very keen to trace the driver who stopped to help the victim, as she may have important information that could help our investigation.

“We are asking that she and anyone else with information contacts Thames Valley Police on 101, quoting 43180064902.”
