Victims formally identified in murder investigation– Banbury

Formal identification of the two men found deceased inside a property in Banbury has now taken place.

Adrian Fannon, aged 39, and Mark Pawley, aged 25, were both formally identified today (4/10). Both men were from the Banbury area.

The men were found deceased inside a property in Newland Road at around 6.45pm on Sunday evening (1/10). A scene watch remains in place at the location whilst officers conduct enquiries.

Following a Home Office post-mortem examination held yesterday (3/10), the cause of death for both men has been given as multiple stab wounds.

Investigating officers would continue to appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or any unusual behaviour in the area to please come forward. Anyone with any information about the incident should contact the 24-hour Thames Valley Police enquiry centre on 101, quoting reference 1159 of 1 October.

The men’s families have asked that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing, and a 52-year-old man from Banbury who was arrested on suspicion of murder remains in police custody.
