Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police a man has been sentenced after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply and possession of criminal property of over £1,500 in cash from the proceeds of drug dealing.

 

Imthiaz Hussain, aged 22, of Oak Green, Aylesbury was sentenced to 9 months’ imprisonment, suspended for 2 years, ordered to undertake 175 hours unpaid work, and forfeited £1585 in cash obtained through drug dealing.

 

This cash has been awarded to a local charity.

 

At around 8pm on 27 August 2018, Hussain was stopped by officers, acting suspiciously on the pavement near his home address.

 

He was subjected to a search under the misuse of drugs act, and two sandwich bags were found in his jacket pockets containing what was later confirmed as cannabis.

 

Following a search of Hussain’s home address, officers recovered further cannabis with an estimated street value of around £2,350.

 

A mobile phone was also seized which showed evident of drug dealing activity.

 

Hussain was arrested on 27 August 2019 and charged on 7 September 2019.

 

Investigating officer, Detective Constable James Lacey, of Force CID based at Aylesbury, said: “I am satisfied that Hussain has been convicted for seeking to make a profit out of drug dealing.

 

“Drug dealers cause untold harm to the most vulnerable people in our communities, and fund their lifestyle at the detriment of other people’s physical and mental health.

 

“Thames Valley Police though our Stronghold campaign will always pursue those people who seek to profit from selling drugs, carrying out detailed investigations, and bringing offenders to justice.
