Appeal for witnesses following assault occasioning grievous bodily harm – Reading

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault occasioning grievous bodily harm in Reading.
The incident took place on Saturday (19/10) at about 7.45pm near the bandstand in Forbury Gardens.
A group of three boys, one aged 16 and two aged 17, were sitting in the bandstand when they were approached by a group of males on bicycles.
They assaulted the three boys in the bandstand with weapons including sticks and broken glass bottles.
One of the victims suffered a deep laceration to his face, as well as other cuts and swelling to the head.
The other two also sustained injuries and they were all taken to hospital for treatment. They have all since been discharged.
Currently, there is no further description available of the offenders.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Marius York, based at Reading police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this incident, which resulted in one of the victims sustaining grievous bodily harm level injuries.
