Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision on the A40 near Burford.
At around 9.50am this morning there was a collision between a red Ford Fiesta and white Mercedes Benz lorry on the A40 between the B4425 and the turning for Little Barrington.
Sadly the driver of the car, a man in his twenties suffered serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.
The driver of the lorry was not injured.
No one has been arrested. Road closures are still currently in place while investigation and recovery work is ongoing. The road is likely to be closed until around 6pm.
Investigating officer, Sergeant Linford Baxter of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are investigating the circumstances of this collision in which a man has sadly died. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
“We are carrying out enquiries but would ask anyone who may have witnessed this collision, or has dash-cam that may have captured the incident to please come forward.
“Anyone with information should call 101 or report online quoting reference 43210309919.”
