Thames Valley Police is releasing an image in connection with an incident of fraud.
On 12 October 2021, two males knocked on the door of an elderly lady in Harold White Close, Risinghurst, offering some goods for her to buy.
She did not have cash to pay for the goods, when she sad this they advised her she could pay by card. One of the men took her card away to process the transaction with a card reader. Shortly after they had left she checked her account and realised that she had been charged £500 for the goods which were worth pounds.
Investigating officer, PC Jonathan Kelly, of the Barton Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “This is a case of an elderly woman being targeted and defrauded out of a considerable sum of money.
“We are releasing this image as we believe that the male pictured may have vital information that can assist us in our investigation.
“If this is you or you recognise this person please call 101 or report online quoting the reference 43210460326.
“We would advise members of the public not to make payments using a card, unless they are sure that they are from a reputable company.
“There is further advice about personal fraud on our website and how to report if you’ve been a victim.”
