Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been sentenced for fraud by abuse of position.
Bruce Sui Cox, aged 62, of Church Road, Idmiston, Salisbury, was sentenced on Friday (22/4) at Oxford Crown Court to three years and four months imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to one count of fraud by abuse of position.
The offence took place between July 2018 and August 2019.
Cox, who was working as a financial director for Kokomo, a health and beauty company based in Abingdon, committed fraud in the region of £628,000.
Cox mismanaged the firms affairs during his role and the offence had a significant financial impact on Kokomo.
Cox was charged by postal requisition on 17 June 2021.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Carly Milward, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “The fraudulent actions committed by Cox have caused a significant and profound impact on the company and all of the staff involved.
“The business was close to liquidation and the financial impact is still felt by the business and will do for some time.
“Cox held a position of trust which he took advantage of and he neglected the financial interests of the company.
“I hope the sentence gives some justice for all of the staff affected by his poor judgement.”
