Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault outside a pub in Oxford.
Just after 12.30am on Saturday (23/7) there was an altercation between two groups of men in the car park of The Tandem Public House, Kennington Road, Oxford.
A man in his forties was punched unconscious by one man and whilst on the ground was kicked by another man.
The victim suffered fractures to his face and head. He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
Two men have been arrested in connection with the assault. A 24-year-old and a 20-year-old both from Oxford were arrested on suspicion of GBH. They have both been release under investigation while enquiries continue.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Nathan Adby of CID based at Abingdon, said: “We are investigating this assault in which a man has received a number of fractures.
“We are conducting a thorough investigation and are appealing for the public’s assistance.
“We are aware that before the altercation there was a group of men and women who were playing pool inside The Tandem pub who we believe may have witness information around this incident.
“We are also aware that there were a number of other customers in the pub. As such we are asking anyone who was in the pub who may have information or witnessed the assault to please come forward.
