Following the death of Her late Majesty the Queen, Thames Valley Police’s Roads Policing officers are carrying out patrols in and around Windsor.
The roads in and out of Windsor are exceptionally busy and officers are working with partners to ensure the safety of everyone using the road network.
As part of this, officers will be actively patrolling the local area and using ANPR technology to monitor people using the road network to make sure people are visiting Windsor for the right reasons.
If a vehicle triggers the ANPR technology, officers are immediately alerted and will take action such as stopping the vehicle and talking to the driver.
This is part of Thames Valley Police’s ongoing commitment to ensure that the public is kept safe and secure as they visit Windsor.
There are already planned closures of some roads and car parks. Anyone who is planning to travel to Windsor should expect a longer journey.
Before setting off please check the advice from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
