Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Newbury.
The incident occurred at around 5am on Tuesday (17/1), at a business in London Road, Speen.
The offender entered the premises with a long-handled axe and threatened an employee.
He then assaulted the employee before stealing cigarettes and cash from the till.
The offender is described as a white man, between 30-40 years old, of skinny build and around 5ft 5ins tall.
He was wearing a black coat with the hood up, and black trousers, gloves and face mask. The axe he was carrying had a long yellow and black handle.
Investigating officer, PC Isabelle Denis, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has information about what happened, to please get in touch.
“I’d also ask any motorists who were in the local area and have dash-cams to please check their footage in case it has captured something that could assist the investigation.
