Man convicted of rape and other sexual offences – Buckinghamshire

Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been convicted of rape and a number of other sexual offences.

Marcus Taylor, aged 43, of Lingfield Close, High Wycombe, was convicted by majority jury of one count each of rape, sexual assault by penetration, and sexual assault following a trial at Amersham Crown Court, which concluded on Monday (19/6).

He was found not guilty of non-fatal strangulation. 

Taylor went to the address of a woman this year in Buckinghamshire. While there, he forced himself upon his victim, raping her and sexually assaulting her.

He then left and police were called. Taylor was arrested on the same day.

Taylor was charged on 11 March. He will be sentenced at the same court on 10 August.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Nathan Devlin said: “I am pleased that Taylor has been convicted of these horrendous offences.

“I would like to pay tribute to the victim for her immense amount of bravery to stand up against her attacker and attend court and give evidence, which was extremely tough given the nature of the offences.

“I hope this conviction shows we are committed to tackling serious sexual offences and violence against women and girls, and we will support victims and bring offenders before the courts to face justice.
