Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to a burglary in Burnham.
Officers were called to a report of a burglary on Fairview Road at just after 4am on Saturday.
During the burglary, a firearm was discharged. No one was hurt.
A 27-year-old woman from Slough and a 33-year-old woman from Burnham were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. They have since been released on police bail.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Harry Gehnich, based at Slough police station, said: “I am appealing for anyone with information about this burglary to please get in touch.
“While I understand the fact a firearm was discharged may be concerning, we are confident it was an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“A scene-watch was in place, which has since been lifted, and reassurance patrols have been conducted in the local area.
“Anyone with information relating to the incident is urged to contact us by calling 101 or via our website, quoting reference number 43230208569.”
