Thames Valley Police is appealing for information in connection with a serious injury road traffic collision in Abingdon.
The collision occurred at the Radley roundabout at the junction of Radley Road, Twelve Acre Drive and Audlett Drive at 2pm yesterday (10/11).
A woman wearing a high-visibility vest and helmet was riding a grey electrically assisted pedal bike, travelling along the Radley Road from Radley towards Abingdon.
On reaching the roundabout junction, the cyclist was struck from behind by a grey Skoda Octavia.
South Central Ambulance, the Thames Valley air ambulance and Thames Valley Police attended the scene.
The cyclist, a woman in her fifties, suffered serious injuries and was taken to the John Radcliffe hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
Investigating officer, PC Shaun Kipling of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I’m appealing to any witnesses, anyone who has footage of the collision or either the bicycle or vehicle prior to the collision, or anyone else with information to come forward.
“The easiest way to contact us is by leaving information via our website, or you can visit a police station, or call 101. Please quote the investigation reference which is 43230506274.
“We thank the public for their cooperation and support while the road was closed until 8pm to allow emergency services to treat the woman as well as to ensure officers could thoroughly investigate the scene.”
