Appeal for witnesses following serious assault – High Wycombe

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in High Wycombe.

The incident occurred at approximately 11.30pm last night (11/8) in Havenfield Road where an altercation resulted in two people being stabbed.

A 45-year-old man, from High Wycombe has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He is currently in police custody.

A 41-year-old man and 35-year-old woman, both from High Wycombe have been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

The 41-year-old man and the woman are currently being treated in hospital for serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Detective Chief Inspector Holly Stockwell, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I appreciate the concern incidents such as this have in the local community, but I would like to reassure the public that at this stage of the investigation, we believe the victims and offender are known to one another, and there is no wider risk to the public.

“I would also like to confirm that we do not currently believe there is any link to a previous incident in High Wycombe two weeks ago in Amersham Road.

“We have a scene-watch in place at the location, which will remain for some time, and so if you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to speak to one of our officers at the scene.
