Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Sulhamstead.
At approximately 2pm on Saturday 10 August, the victim, a woman aged in her forties, was on her canal boat near Tyle Mill Swing Bridge.
An unknown man approached the boat and assaulted the victim. She did not require hospital treatment.
The offender is described as a man, approximately 6ft tall, of medium build, with short brown hair and was wearing a red t-shirt and cargo style shorts.
Investigating officer Sergeant Macy Watson, based at Newbury police station, said: “I am appealing to anybody who witnessed this, or was along the canal at the time, to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
“Violence, especially against a woman, will not be tolerated and we will do everything we can bring justice to the victim and continue to keep our communities safe.
