Following a Thames Valley Police investigation a woman has been jailed after being convicted of multiple offences of theft.
Hayley Cox, aged 42 of Henry Taunt Close, Barton was sentenced to 16 weeks’ imprisonment at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (8/8).
It’s after she pleaded guilty to 13 counts of theft from a shop.
Between April and July of this year, Cox carried out a number of thefts at a shop in Headington and one in Oxford. She took items totalling over £1,300.
Following an investigation she was arrested Friday 2 August, and charged the same day.
Investigating officer PC Jon Kelly based in Oxford, said: “Thames Valley Police remains committed to tackling retail crime.
“Our focus will be where offenders are repeatedly targeting retailers.
“I hope that this conviction and sentencing sends the message to offenders such as Cox, that this behaviour is not acceptable and we will investigate and bring you before the courts to face justice.”
