Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an affray in High Wycombe.
At around 9.13pm last night (23/8), officers received reports of an altercation involving a large group on Cressex Road, which led to a number of people sustaining injuries.
Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Some of those injured required hospital treatment, but their wounds are not believed to be serious.
Detective Sergeant Christian Meichsner said: “We are in the very early stages of this investigation and we are working to establish exactly happened.
“I understand that people in the area might be concerned to hear of this incident, but I’d like to reassure them that we’ve made a number of arrests in connection with this incident, and that we don’t believe there is any threat to the wider community.
“If you are out in High Wycombe today, you will notice an increased police presence while we continue our investigation.
“If you have any concerns or questions at all, please feel free to approach our officers and they will do their best to help, but please understand that there might be some details they can’t tell you while our investigation takes place.
“Finally, I’d like to ask anyone who has any information at all about this incident to please get in touch as soon as possible.
“You can do this by calling our non-emergency number 101 and quoting reference number 43240406360. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, or make a report online.”
