Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an assault in Abingdon.
At around 7.15pm on Saturday (17/8), a group of up to 10-15 males aged in their late teens to early twenties, approached a man in his late forties, who was out walking his dog in Abbey Gardens.
One of the group, a black male, then hit the victim with a tree branch, while a second white male punched him in the face.
The first offender is described as black, aged in his mid to late teens with average to skinny build and was dressed all in black.
The second offender is white, again aged in his mid to late teens and was dressed in white clothing.
The victim sustained a head injury, cuts and bruises and a black eye and was treated in hospital. He has since been discharged.
An 18-year-old man from Wantage has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and has been bailed until 10 November.
Investigating officer PC Gordon Macdonald said: “I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.
“I would also ask anyone who may have dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage to please contact us if it has captured the incident.
