Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police a man has been jailed for assaulting another man in Didcot.
Omario Bell, aged 21, of Kibble Close, Didcot was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on 27 November, to one year and 10 months in jail.
It’s after he pleaded guilty to one count of Section 20 GBH wounding without intent, and criminal damage.
On 24 July this year, the victim had been in a pub with a group, where Bell was also present.
They and others at the pub had been chatting. They have left and some sort of disagreement has happened between the men in an alleyway on Broadway.
Bell has assaulted the victim, by repeatedly hitting him around the face and head. Bell also smashed the victim’s phone by stamping on it. He has then left the scene.
The victim, who is in his thirties, was taken to hospital but was discharged the same day.
An investigation was launched and Bell was arrested on 31 July and charged on 1 August.
Detective Constable James Clancy, of the Oxfordshire Priority Crime Team, said: “I am satisfied that Bell has been jailed.
“He viciously assaulted the victim leaving him with facial injuries and deliberately damaged his property.
“Violence will not be tolerated by Thames Valley Police and we will investigate offenders such as Bell and bring them before the courts to face justice.”
