Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been charged with attempted murder in Aylesbury.
Terrence Clarke, aged 82, of Buckingham Street, Aylesbury, was charged with attempted murder today (2/1).
Thames Valley Police received a call just after 12.40am yesterday (1/1) from South Central Ambulance Service of an assault with injury at a property in Buckingham Street, Aylesbury.
The victim, an 81-year-old woman, sustained serious, life threatening injuries and remains in hospital in a critical condition.
Clarke is due to appear at Wycombe Magistrates Court today (2/1).
