Appeal for witnesses following sexual assault – Witney

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a sexual assault in Witney.
The incident took place on Wednesday evening (7/2) in Witney town centre, near Witan way.
The victim, a boy in his teens, was sexually assaulted by a woman he did not know. Officers attended the scene and later arrested a 51-year-old woman from Witney on suspicion of sexual assault, theft and causing or inciting a child into sexual activity. She remains in police custody at this time.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Katie Ford, said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and work is taking place to establish the exact circumstances.
“We have made an arrest and our officers will be in the area carrying out enquiries. As such, members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence .
“I’d like to appeal to anyone who has any information about this incident to come forward, particularly any drivers who might have dash-cam footage.
