Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for two shoplifting offences in Slough.
Anthony Wareham, aged 43, of London Road, Slough, was sentenced to two months’ imprisonment after he pleaded guilty to two counts of shoplifting at Reading Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (31/1).
On 23 January and 29 January, Wareham entered a business on London Road and stole a range of food items, worth £140.
Wareham was arrested and charged on Tuesday (30/1).
Investigating officer PC Abdullah Rafie, of the neighbourhood policing team for Slough, said: “Shoplifting has a significant impact and is far from being a victimless crime.
“Wareham is a prolific offender, and he has now rightly been imprisoned for his latest shopliftings.
“We know that shoplifting is an issue in Slough and we are absolutely committed to tackling this and bringing offenders to justice.
“I hope this conviction will ensure others who feel it’s acceptable to take what is not theirs to reconsider their actions, as we will pursue you, charge you and put you before the courts to face justice.”
