A Section 60 order has been put in place following a disorder in Chesham.
A number of people who are believed to be known to each other were involved in disorder in the Cresswell Road area last night (5/2).
One man was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His injuries are not life-threatening.
A 28-year-old man from Chesham has been arrested on suspicion of assault; he remains in police custody at this time.
A Section 60, which allows officers greater powers of Stop and Search, has been put in place to prevent further possible violence.
The order will be in place for 24 hours until 5.30pm on Wednesday (7/2), and will cover the area show in the map.
Inspector Jason Liles said: “We have put this order in place to stop further violence following an incident of disorder.
“The order will be reviewed tomorrow and may be extended for another 24 hours, if required.
“Members of the public will see an increase police presence. Anyone with concerns should please speak to one of our officers.
“An investigation is also ongoing with regards to this disorder and anyone with information should contact Thames Valley Police on 101 quoting reference 43240057310.”
