We are accepting applications now for PCEP, which offers a comprehensive programme of training and takes two years to complete.
This is our main entry route into policing as a Police Officer, offering the core foundation for any further career progressions in policing.
Student officers on this programme will undertake a period of initial learning at our training centres in Sulhamstead and/or Kidlington, before moving to their designated Local Command Unit (LCU) for further operational coaching and tutoring. Once you have successfully completed two-years’ probation on the PCEP you become a substantive Police Constable, able to consider a wide-range of opportunities for progression and specialism within the force.
Eligibility for PCEP includes the following:
English GCSE (A*-C/9-4) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification, and two A-Levels (A-E) or equivalent, or relevant professional experience.
Be 17 years old or over at application, over 18 years before you start. There is no upper age limit.
Be a British citizen or have Indefinite Leave to Remain or Pre-Settled/Settled status and no restrictions on your stay in the UK.
Have been a UK resident for the last three years.
Full eligibility criteria is available in the application form.
