Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to an assault in Banbury yesterday (1/2).
A group of people approached two men in Evenlode sometime between 9.30pm and 11pm.
A man from this group then assaulted one of the men, aged in his forties, and tried to stab him.
The victim suffered an injury to his back. It is not known if he required hospital treatment.
The offender is described as an Asian man in his late twenties or early thirties, of stocky build and around 6ft tall. He also had a well-kept black beard, around medium length. He was wearing a black tracksuit with a white stripe down the sleeve and trousers with white socks pulled up quite high.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Sam Buzzard, of the Priority Crime Team, based at Banbury police station, said: “I am appealing for witnesses to this assault to please come forward.
“Also, if you were driving in the area around the time of the collision and have a dash-cam, or if you live nearby and have a CCTV camera or a video doorbell, please check any recordings in case it has captured something that could assist us and get in touch if you have.
