Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an incident on the footbridge by Earley train station on Friday (26/7).
At around 5.10pm a woman in her late teens, was walking over the footbridge, when a man has approached her, tried to engage her in conversation and then grabbed her wrists and tried to pull her with him.
The victim resisted the man, a woman then intervened by shouting at the offender, who then ran off.
The offender is described as a white man, in his thirties, very pale skin, very skinny, around 5ft 10 ins tall, with wrinkles around the eyes, flaky blonde thinning hair, stubble of the same colour, wearing a light grey hooded top, darker grey jogging bottoms which were faded.
Investigating officer, Detective Constable Helen Lord, said: “Following the report of this incident we are conducting a number of enquiries in order to investigate this incident.
“We are aware that at this time the woman who intervened in this incident, has not yet come forward. She is described as a white woman possible in her 50s, wearing a black/dark t-shirt and was carrying a flowery backpack, possibly made by Cath Kidston.

“Members of the public may see an increased police presence while we investigate and increased patrols have been put in place.”
