Appeal for witnesses to assault – High Wycombe

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following an apparent road rage assault in High Wycombe.

At around 1.30pm on Wednesday (6/11), two men got out of a black or dark-coloured car, possibly a Vauxhall Astra near the traffic lights on Daws Hill Lane in the town.

The offenders have then used homophobic language towards the victim, a man aged in his forties, before one of them assaulted him with a cricket bat.

The victim suffered swelling and bruising to his arm and hand and was treated in hospital, but has since been discharged.

The driver of the car is describe as being of mixed heritage, aged in his early 30s around 6ft tall.

He had a slim to average build with short cropped black hair and a short black beard.

He was wearing a dark blue polo shirt and jeans.

The other offender is described as being of European origin with a tanned complexion.

He was aged in his early 30s and around 5ft 10ins to 5ft 11ins tall.

He had a larger build and was wearing a black baseball cap, dark blue zip-up jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms.

Investigating officer PC Rebecca Ayres, based at High Wycombe police station, said: “I’m appealing to anybody who witnessed this incident to please get in touch with Thames Valley Police.

“If you were driving in the area and have dash-cam, I would ask you to please check this and contact us if it has captured anything that could assist this investigation.
