Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, two men have been sentenced for drug offences in Reading.
Liam Lunnon, aged 30, of Heroes Walk, Reading was jailed for three years and four months, and Peter Hiles, aged 53, of Welford Road, Woodley, was jailed for two years and three months following a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Tuesday 29 October.
In the same hearing, Lunnon pleaded guilty to one count each of concern in the supply of a cocaine, concern in the supply of heroin and acquire criminal property; Hiles also pleaded guilty to one count each of concern in the supply of cocaine and concern in the supply of heroin.
A forfeiture and destruction order was also made in respect of drugs, cash and phones.
On 26 September, officers executed a section 8 warrant at Lunnon’s home address and recovered a mobile phone and a large quantity of cash in a grip seal bag.
At around 8.30am, Hiles was seen cycling near Heroes Walk and three phones were located in his possession.
The phones recovered contained mass marketing messages advertising class A drugs.
Lunnon and Hiles were both arrested on 26 September and were charged the following day.
Investigating officer Ben Wilson, based at Reading police station, said: “We will never tolerate drug dealing in our communities, which often harm the most vulnerable people.
“We will continue to proactively target and prosecute offenders, like Lunnon and Hiles, and we will be visible and covert in our efforts to disrupt and pursue offenders who are involved in the supply of drugs.
“The information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.
