A man has been sentenced to a year and six months in prison for dangerous driving and other offences.
Marian Stancu, aged 32, of Micklefield Road, High Wycombe, pleaded guilty to a count each of dangerous driving, failing to provide specimen for analysis, driving whilst disqualified, using a motor vehicle on a road / public place without third party insurance and common assault of an emergency worker, in a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on Monday 22 July.
Stancu was sentenced at the same court on Wednesday (13/11).
At around 2.50am on Saturday 20 July, Stancu pulled out in front of Roads Policing officers on West Wycombe Road, cutting up other traffic.
When requested to stop, Stancu failed to do so and continued to drive in a dangerous manner.
He then crashed into rails at the roundabout by Wycombe police station, and assaulted a police officer.
Stancu was arrested and charged with the offences on the same day.
Investigating officer PC Richard Lunn of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “This case is another example of the dangers of being reckless whilst driving a motor vehicle.
“It is lucky that Stancu did not crash into a member of the public.
“Stancu then made the conscious decision to try and drive away from officers and flee justice, but I am pleased he has now been convicted and jailed.
