Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a woman has been convicted of manslaughter, following an incident in Banbury.
Lisa Davenport, aged 55, of Washle Drive, Middleton Cheney, has this morning (21/11), pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of Barrie Davenport, at Oxford Crown Court.
On Monday 17 October 2022, 88-year-old Barrie died at an assisted living complex in School Lane.
A murder investigation was launched by the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit and, on 18 October 2022, Lisa Davenport was arrested.
She was charged on 8 September 2023 with one count of the murder of Barrie Davenport.
Following the guilty plea this morning, the prosecution has accepted the alternative plea of manslaughter by diminished responsibility.
Lisa Davenport will be sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on 7 February 2025.
Senior Investigation Officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “This guilty plea from Lisa Davenport brings this complex investigation to a conclusion, and my thoughts remain with the family of Barrie Davenport”
