A man has been sentenced for robbery and fraud offences following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.
Michael Fenwick, of no fixed abode was sentenced to two years and nine months’ imprisonment at Reading Crown Court on Thursday (24/10).
The 33-year-old plead guilty to one count of robbery and two counts of fraud by false representation at the same hearing.
The court heard that on 28 June this year, Fenwick approached a 74-year-old woman in the car park of Tesco in Brunel Way, Slough.
He then dragged the victim to the floor, pulling her handbag away from her before taking it. Fenwick then used the victim’s bank cards on two occasions before being arrested.
Fenwick was charged with the offences on 29 June.
Investigating officer, Detective Sergeant Joshua Webb, based at Slough police station, said: “Fenwick committed this robbery against a 74-year-old woman in broad daylight.
“He was arrested on the day of the offence and then quickly charged. This type of offence is never tolerated and I hope that this case shows how seriously crimes of this nature are taken.”
