Following a Thames Valley Police investigation a man has been jailed for burglary in Slough.
Shaun Connors, aged 28, of Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, was jailed for two years and three months following a hearing at Aylesbury Crown Court on Wednesday (25/9).
It’s after he pleaded guilty to one count of burglary dwelling on 5 August this year, at the same court.
On 27 May, the victim, a man in his forties, was driving on Wexham Street when he saw his wife’s car being driven in the opposite direction.
The victim followed the car and saw it abandoned in a layby near Wexham park golf club. He looked inside the car and saw items belonging to him which were stolen from his home.
Fortunately, the victim’s car was recovered; however, on returning home, the victim discovered that his house had been searched with drawers thrown on the floor and emptied.
Connors stole a platinum men’s wedding ring, a watch, a pillow case and a dark blue baseball cap. These items were never recovered.
Connors was arrested on 4 July and was charged the following day.
Police staff investigator Debbie Parker-Boyes, part of Aylesbury’s Priority Crime Team, said: “I am satisfied that Connors has been sentenced to a custodial sentence.
“Burglary is an invasive crime which has devastating and long-lasting effects on victims, and I hope this excellent result at court will reassure our communities that we will do act swiftly and do everything in our power to bring offenders before the courts.
“We hope this case serves as a warning to anyone who is thinking of targeting homes and vehicles to burgle that we are determined to fully investigate every report and bring those responsible to justice.”
