Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for possession with intent to supply class A drugs and for having a bladed article in Slough.
Gavin Piercy, aged 41, of Orchard Drive, Grays, Essex, was sentenced at Reading Crown Court on Monday 31 March, to six years’ imprisonment.
In the same hearing, Piercy pleaded guilty to one count each of possession with intent to supply cocaine and possession of a bladed article.
Piercy was arrested on 16 December last year and was charged and remanded the following day.
At around 11.45am on 16 December last year, Piercy was stopped in his vehicle by officers on Broadmark Road, Slough, due to a defect on the car. During this stop, officers found approximately 4 kilograms of cocaine on the passenger seat and a knife in the door pocket.
Detective Inspector Ryan Powell said: “I’m pleased with the severity of the sentence Piercy has received.
“This result shows the positive impact that proactive policing can have in Slough. It has removed 4 kilograms of cocaine and a weapon from the street, disrupting the supply of drugs.
“I hope this conviction highlights not only our commitment in tackling crime but also our commitment in protecting our communities from serious harm and our relentless pursuit of those offenders.”
