Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for violent disorder and other offences in Slough.
Musa Daly, aged 19, of Goodman Park, Slough, has been jailed for two years and four months following a hearing at Reading Crown Court on Wednesday 29 January.
In the same hearing, Daly pleaded guilty to a count each of violent disorder, possession of a bladed article and being concerned in the supply of a class B drug, namely cannabis.
Daly’s offending led to a previous suspended sentence of two months’ imprisonment being activated, which will run consecutively to this sentence, which will total two years and six months.
At around 8pm on 30 April last year, Musa Daly engaged in violent disorder on Trelawney Avenue. Musa was identified on CCTV carrying a machete, trying to strike four victims.
An investigation was launched and Musa was arrested the following day, where during a search, a quantity of cannabis was located.
During further enquiries, it was identified that Musa was concerned in the supply of cannabis.
Daly was charged on 2 May last year.
Investigating officer PC Patrick Rumbol, based at Slough police station, said: “We are committed to removing dangerous weapons from our communities and as a result of this incident; a machete is no longer on our streets, which will make Slough a safer place.
“Musa was in possession of this knife, and has been given a two-and-a-half-years in prison as a result of his decision to carry this weapon.
“Thames Valley Police will not tolerate any incident where violence is used, especially where bladed articles are used.
“We work tirelessly to remove these dangerous individuals from the streets of our town and we will continue to serve our community and bring offenders to justice.
