Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been sentenced for the manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility in Milton Keynes.
At Luton Crown Court yesterday (28/2), Jay Lupton, aged 25, of Fen Street, Milton Keynes, was sentenced to a hospital order.
At a previous hearing at the same court, Lupton pleaded guilty to one count of manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.
Lupton killed 48-year-old Calvin Olawale Babatunde, from Milton Keynes, last year.
Thames Valley Police was called by South Central Ambulance Service at 6.47pm on Thursday 25 January 2024 to report that a man had been found stabbed in a building in Fen Street in Milton Keynes.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Calvin was sadly pronounced dead at the scene at 7.10pm.
Senior investigating officer Detective Inspector Alice Broad, of the Major Crime Unit, said: “My thoughts, as they always have been, are with Calvin’s family. They have shown immense strength through this process.
“No outcome can be satisfactory when someone has lost their life in such tragic circumstances.”
