Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, a man has been jailed for shoplifting in Reading.
Martin Judd, aged 37, of Mitford Close, Reading, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison at Reading Magistrates Court on Wednesday 8 January.
Judd pleaded guilty to 22 counts of shoplifting at the same court on the same day.
Between 10 November last year and 2 January this year, Judd shoplifted from Co-op on Whitley Wood Road in Reading.
He was arrested on 7 April last year and charged on Tuesday 7 January 2025.
Investigating officer PC Ethan Milsom, of the Reading Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “I am glad that a prolific shoplifter has been arrested, charged and sentenced for his crimes.
“This is thanks to the dedicated work by the Reading Neighbourhood Team and the valuable cooperation of our store partners.
“This result reinforces our commitment and dedication to the safety of our community.”
