Following an investigation by Thames Valley Police, a man has been sentenced for drugs offences in Reading.
Mustafa Ahamed, aged 24 of Kinson Road, Reading, was sentenced to two years’ and eight months’ in jail, following a hearing on Wednesday (8/1) at Reading Crown Court.
It follows guilty pleas by Ahamed at an earlier hearing in August at the same court to; One count of possession with intent to supply class A drugs - namely crack cocaine, one count of possession with intent supply Class A drugs - namely heroin, and one count of acquiring/using/criminal property.
On 8 January 2024, officers have detained Ahamed riding an electric motorbike in Grovelands Road, Reading.
Officers conducted a search and found that he had concealed a pot in his jacket, which contained 48 wraps of drugs. The wraps contained heroin and cocaine with a street value of around £980.
Ahamed was also carrying £1020 in cash and a mobile phone. A search of his address found further criminal property of a pair of Louis Vuitton trainers.
Analysis of his phone found that he had been using the device to advertise drugs for sale to multiple contacts.
Ahamed was arrested and charged the following day on 9 January 2024.
Investigating officer PC Steele, said: “Officers in Reading will proactively target and charge drug dealers. Our activity will be both visible and covert aimed at disrupting and pursuing offenders involved in the supply of drugs.
“Information from the public around the drug supply offences in Reading plays an important role in developing intelligence into a proactive investigation.
“If you have any information about drug dealing we would encourage you to report it to us by calling 101 or through the online reporting on our website.”
