The Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for the Thames Valley, Matthew Barber, has today (28/1) announced that he has reinstated Chief Constable Jason Hogg back into his role, with immediate effect.
The PCC suspended Chief Constable Hogg on 16 January this year due to an investigation being conducted by the Independent Office of Police Conduct (IOPC), which continues. You can read the PCC’s statement here.
Chief Constable Hogg said: “I am pleased to return to my role, and my focus remains firmly on leading our force and protecting our communities by fighting crime and supporting victims.
“I am deeply grateful for the ongoing professionalism and dedication shown by our officers, staff and volunteers who as ever remain absolutely committed to serving the public and delivering policing across the Thames Valley.”
Ben Snuggs, who was Acting Chief Constable, will now move back to his substantive role as Deputy Chief Constable.
Thames Valley Police is not in a position to make any further comment on the ongoing investigation by the IOPC.
